You know you are a grown up when you come to realize how innocent children are. The world is so cruel, and it takes advantage of the children. If people would just take a few moments and look at what a child's mind contains, they will see the true world without its oozing blood and battle scars. A child sees only the purity in life. Although they are oblivious to the complicated nets that tangle up our world, they see the most simple beauties and pleasures that we are almost blind to. We have no right to deny children the right to believe in Santa Claus, to fly over the world on a magic carpet, to have a big furry purple imaginary friend, to ride a horse along a train in the wild west, or to walk into the world of imagination 24/7. It is heartbreaking to watch a child lose their connection to their beautiful world before they are ready or before they should. Let children be children, because they have a better outlook of the world than we.

This is true but it's not all of it... you know you're grown up when you eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for a week because you had to pay the light bill. I guess that is where children lose their connection with the beauty of the world and realize dang it, it's a tough world out there.
